Salvage procedures in post-polio residual paralysis (PPRP) with or without arthritis

Poliomyelitis is a rare disease at present, but presentation with its sequalae not uncommon. In this study we are presenting 5 different cases deformities in lower limb, who were managed arthrodesis, tendon transfer, and osteotomies combination. All the patients satisfied their gait pain relief after surgery compared pre-operative status. followed for period of 2 years post operatively, no major complications encountered. conclusion, because gross muscle power compromise replacement surgeries will give good results residual paralysis patients, so salvage procedures definitely improve performances painful unstable joints.
